Praying the Promises

God’s word is filled with promises.  We are so blessed to have the Bible, to read the promises God made millennia ago that are still for us today.

Why pray the promises?

  1. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17
  2. Use the sword of the Spirit to fight our battles. Ephesians 6:17
  3. God didn’t think let there be light, He spoke it. Genesis 1:3
  4. Meditate on God’s word day and night and do what it says to have success. Joshua 1:8
  5. Every word of God is inspired. II Timothy 3:16

How many promises are there?

Somewhere between 3500 – 7000 promises are found in the Bible.  There are promises from God to mankind, man to God and man to man.

The greatest promise – John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

A promise for our country – II Chronicles 7:14 -If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from  their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins and will heal their land.
